She anchors this section with a bobby pin at the corner of her forehead. From that point her hair tumbles down beside her cheek in a widening sweep of big curls that stops just below chin height. On the left of her face a similar cascade of curls erupts, but it reaches well out to the side first, as far as the outside of her ear, before making a couple of tentative swirls back in towards the cheek. The wider swell of hair on this side creates a curved, off-center symmetry that helps disguise the true shape Ashlee Simpson's face - a rectangle. It's a device that many women use, the same device employed, in fact, by Jennifer Aniston when she wore The Rachel, the haircut that transformed her diamond face shape into something infinitely more mysterious. Ashlee Simpson's short curly bob is blonde in color, a dark, warm blonde with paler highlights, and darker tones beneath.
