At first glance this could be a long curly updo, with its dangling spirals beside the cheek and a hint of volume massing at the ears. But Brittany Murphy's hair is cut short enough, though some might call this a short to medium hair style.

Short layers at the front round off and narrow her forehead above the eye, and long bangs extend the line of these short layers into a graceful curve sweeping all the way down to the corner of her eye and out again.

The bangs expose her cheek and curl round on themselves, ending in spirals that point the way to her jaw.

On her left, Brittany's hair indulges no such flights of fancy. After the merest of uprisings it drops straight down from the part, to be overlaid with hair at the temple and side which she pulls backwards across it.

A lock of hair escapes this restraint, swells out above Brittany's ear and curves back in behind the lobe in an echo of the broad-sweeping spiral on her right.

Brittany Murphy's hair color is blonde with very pale highlights. A darker base provides contrast and movement.
