Singer and recording artist Rihanna wears another short, precisely styled haircut that aims for ultra chic but achieves a sort of icy, plastic severity.
In Picture 10 her profile, and her vaguely predatory gaze, puts one in mind of an emu.
It's a short back and sides hair style, cut round the ears with a forward flick onto the cheeks and tapering up from the neck into the crown (Picture 6).
Razored, curving, slightly spiky bangs are distributed across the front at brow and eye length. They conceal Rihanna's broad forehead, but in concentrating the hair above the level of her eyebrows she creates a heart shaped face (seen most clearly in this photo). A raised lock at the crown tries to redefine the heart as an oval, but fails.
Rihanna's self-conscious grab at extreme sophistication represents a competitive foray into the world of celebrity red carpet glamor, but even by Hollywood's illusory standards she looks less and less like a real person.
